Free Music Charts August 2010

Fünf Wochen lang konntet ihr über Wohl und Wehe der Songs in unseren Free Music Charts entscheiden, jetzt gibt es das Ergebnis: Die Darkerradio Free Music Charts August 2010.

Besonders beeindruckend sind die Zugriffszahlen auf die Stücke in den Charts. Zusammen wurden über uns diesen Monat mindestens 345.000 freie Musikstücke verteilt! 320.000 davon über die über 16.000 Podcastdownloads, die jeweils 20 Lieder enthalten, und noch einmal 25.000 als Einzeldownloads. Ja, ich mag Statistiken. ;-) A propos: 359 Wähler haben zusammen 657 Stimmen abgegeben. Denkt dran: Ihr dürft fünf Songs bei der Abstimmung auswählen!

Aber nicht nur hier wurden Rekorde gebrochen. Vier Stücke sind an die sechs Monate Grenze in den Charts gestoßen und müssen somit nach unserem Regelwerk durch Neuvorstellungen ersetzt werden. Zusammen mit den fünf üblichen ergibt das nun die Rekordzahl von neun (!) neuen Stücken. Damit habt ihr das Sendungskonzept erfolgreich gesprengt. Die nachfolgenden Sendungen verschieben sich leider um… wir werden sehen wie lang.

Und damit versuche ich mich einmal an einer kurzen Beschreibung der Neuankömmlinge:

• Azoora spielen psychedelischen Rock und haben bereits diverse EPs unter freien Lizenzen veröffentlicht.
• Cocolixe ist ein Newcomer aus Barcelona. Euch erwartet Elektropop wie es ihn bisher eher selten in den Free Music Charts gab.
• Evils that never came könnte man versuchen in die Indierock-Schublade zu stecken.
• Garmisch, dem alt eingesessenen Stammhörer besser bekannt als Garmisch Partenkirchen, sind wieder mit schwedischen Elektropop am Start.
• Kyle Cox könnten mit ihrem Indierock sogar in der Lage sein, Tanzflächen zu füllen. Es käme nur auf den Versuch an.
• Leslie Hunt ist wohl eine der poppigsten Interpreten, die wir bisher hier im Programm hatten.
• The Mystery Artist erinnern, zumindest wenn man ihr Album vollständig anhört, ein wenig an die alten The Cure Veröffentlichungen.
• The New Economy sind wiederum eher dem Britpop zugeneigt.
• The Pop Winds machen diesen Monat den Abschluss und bieten Pop mit Synthesizern: Synthie-Pop.

Gerne empfehle ich euch wie immer die Platten der Bands komplett anzuhören. Falls ihr Vorschläge für Neuvorstellungen habt könnt ihr die auch bei uns im Forum abgeben.

Regelwerk: Ihr könnt bis zu fünf Songs (aus der Top 15 des Vormonats und fünf Neuvorstellungen aussuchen, um ihnen eure Stimme zu geben. Jeder von euch darf selbstverständlich nur einmal pro Sendung abstimmen. Nach sechs Monaten wird ein Song automatisch durch eine Neuvorstellung ersetzt.

Die Charts im Monat September 2010 erwarten auch dann am Montag, den 20ten. Bis dahin: viel Spaß mit eurer Auswahl!

You had five weeks to decide which songs to vote for in our Free Music Charts, now the result is ready: The Darkerradio Free Music Charts August 2010.

Access statistics for the songs in the charts are especially outstanding this time. Alltogether more than 345.000 free songs have been distributed this month! 320.000 of those were part of the more than 16.000 podcast downloads with 20 songs per podcast and another 25.000 single songs were downloaded directly. Yeah, I like statistics. ;-) By the way: 359 voters have casted 657 votes. Remember: You are allowed to select your five favorite songs when casting you ballot!

We even had more records. Four songs have reached the six months barrier and therefore according to our rules have to be replaced by newcomers. Together with the five usual ones we so have nine (!) new songs in the charts. So you all successfully sabotaged the concept of the show. Expect the following shows to be delayed. ;-)

Here is a short description of the newcomers:

• Azoora are palying psychedelic rock and have already freely released several EPs.
• Cocolixe is a newcomer from Barcelona. Expect electropop as we don’t hear often in the Free Music Charts.
• Evils that never came are best described as indie rock.
• Garmisch, better known as Garmisch Partenkirchen to long time Free Music Charts fans, are going to present you the newest in Swedish electropop.
• Kyle Cox might be able to fill up the dancefloors with their indie rock. Someone should try it.
• Leslie Hunt is the closest we ever had to pop this our show.
• The Mystery Artist are quite similar to the old The Cure releases, at least if you listen to their album completely.
• The New Economy are playing britpop.
• The Pop Winds are the last newcomer this month and are playing synth pop.

As always I highly recommend listening to the whole releases. If you want to recommend new songs you can simply post them in our forum.

Also the (German) podcast is already online.

Rules: In our voting you can select up to five songs from the 15 best rated ones from last month and five newcomers. You are allowed to vote one time per show. After six months a song gets replaced by a newcomer.
